Chai masala is a mixture of whole and crushed spices, traditionally used in India to make tea called 'chai'. The combination of cinnamon, ginger, green cardamom, cloves and star anise not only contributes to making a very aromatic drink, but also has many health benefits. It aids digestion, supports the immune system and provides relief for flu and cold.
Chai masala spice mix is also used for making aromatic syrups, in Indian cooking as whole masala and ground in confectionery.
Tea preparation - in a casserole dry roast 1 tablespoon of the chai masala spices for 1-2 minutes. Pour in 1 liter of warm water and after boiling reduce heat to minimum and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the tea from the heat, strain and add milk and honey/sugar if desired
